CONEY ISLAND is a musical roller-coaster ride of thrills, passion. excitement, love and murder. It is based on a long-forgotten stage play by Irwin Shaw, who referred to it as "a fairy tale with a moral." In it, justice triumphs, and the meek prove victorious over arrogant and violent men.
The violent man in question is Harold Goff, who gets what he wants in life by using brute force, extorting money from innocent people.  This fable is set in the shadows of Coney Island, with screams of delight and terror coming from the Boardwalk.
